Blogging has been the most rewarding hustle for me. I started my blog seven months ago and never imagined I would make money with my new blog.
I feel it is the best decision that I’ve ever made. Today, I will share the different ways you can make money blogging.
If you are looking for a flexible and passive way to make money from home, then I highly recommend starting a blog today.
Ways to Make Money from Blogging
- Affiliate marketing
- Display advertising
- Sponsorships
- Products or courses
- Services
Affiliate Marketing
I LOVE AFFILIATE MARKETING. In this short period of blogging, I have had great success with affiliate marketing. I started making around $300 a month, and now I am making over $4,000 a month, mostly from affiliates.
Most of the tips that I use in my affiliate marketing I have learned from the Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing course. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to monetize their blog through affiliate marketing.
So what exactly is affiliate marketing?
Affiliate marketing is the process where you add a link on your website/blog, and your readers click through and buy the products through that link. You receive a commission when the sale happens.
When you write a post about a product you love, you can keep earning affiliate revenue from that post even years later. That’s passive income.
The process is simple: you join start looking for brands or products related to your niche or products you already love, join their affiliate programs, and start promoting them.
There are many affiliate programs in different niches; I am listing as many as I could find and also the ones I have had great conversions from.
- Maxbounty
- Panthera Network
- OfferJuice
- FlexOffers
- ShareASale
- ShopHer Media
- Amazon
- Commission Junction
- Rakuten
- Offer vault
- PeerFly
- AvantLink
- Epsilon
- Affiliate Future
- CPATrend
- Convert2Media
- Clickbooth
You can find the brands or products that you want to promote in these networks. There are many more affiliate networks; you just need to explore.
There is one important thing you need to remember with affiliate marketing: you should always disclose your affiliate links in your posts. You can find more information on how to disclose and other details from the FTC’s POLICY. Disclosing affiliate links is also required when you promote on social media.

Display Advertising
Display advertising is an excellent way to make passive income from your blog. Ads are images or videos displayed on your site either on the side bar or in the header. This income is totally dependent on your traffic.
There are many ad networks that connect publishers to advertisers. You can apply at places like media.net, BlogHer, Sovrn, Mediavine, and Raptive. I am with Raptive, and I’m very happy with its support.
Sponsorships
You can get paid for sponsored blog posts or social media posts. You can join sites like IZEA (SocialSpark), The Sway Network, Linqia, CLEVER, Social Fabric, Tomoson, and much more.
Tracie Fobes has a great post on how much to charge for a sponsored post; be sure to check it out before you go ahead.
Products
Earning from products like eBooks, courses, etc. is also another way to make money blogging. Creating eBooks or courses is an excellent way to monetize your blog, and it can give a steady stream of income.
For example:
- Michelle Schroeder-Gardner earns a huge amount every month from her affiliate marketing course.
- Melyssa Griffin makes mind-blowing figures from her e-courses every month.
It is possible to earn income from products with platforms like Teachable, and you can create money-making courses with great ease.
Services
Offering services is another way to make money from blogging. Though this is not a passive form of income, it is an excellent way to earn money online. You advertise your services through your blog and get clients.
For example, you can provide virtual assistant services, website management, social media management, WordPress assistance, staff writing, etc.
Having a blog to advertise your services is more profitable than finding clients in freelancing marketplaces.
These are some of the ways of making money from blogging. Making money from blogging takes time, but the results can be awesome.
Always keep in mind that not all methods work for everyone. I have found good success with affiliate marketing; you might make big figures with sponsored posts.
Whether it is display advertising or affiliate marketing, making money from blogging is the most flexible way to earn an online income. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to make money online.
