Ultimate List of Legitimate Work-at-home JobsMany of my friends and family keep asking me if there are any work from home jobs which have no country restriction and are location independent.

Well, there are jobs which are not bound to any geographical location, which can be done from anywhere.

Along with that, there are many jobs and freelance services which are available in many countries.

The basic requirement would be to have a laptop and an internet connection.

I have curated a comprehensive list of legitimate online jobs most of which can be done from many countries. I have categorized them into regions.

The main reason for this is, there is a myth that most of the jobs are only available in the United States.

I cannot stress enough about the fact that there are many jobs available for people in other countries, and also most of the jobs do not require a geographical requirement.

 

Search Engine Evaluator/Social Media Internet Assessor

Web researching is very rewarding and quite an easy task if you get a hang of it. The primary objective of the job is to research and rate the search results.

It is what raters do to help Google searching much better. Social Media Assessor is a more fun job where it pays to have an active social media presence. Sounds fun right!!

Lionbridge recruits in the United States, U.K, Canada, India, Malaysia, Singapore, China, Germany and many more countries.

Appen Butler Hill recruits in Sri Lanka, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Morocco, Ethiopia, Madagascar, Bosnia, apart from United States.

Zerochaos also recruits in United States.

iSoftStone recruits in Brazil, Japan, China, Germany, Puerto Rico, France, Australia, Mexico, Japan, China, etc.

Leapforce recruits in India, Japan, China, Spain, Germany, France, Philippines, Canada, Egypt, South Korea, United Kingdom, Mexico, etc.

Microtasks

These are the small gigs or micro jobs which can earn a little income on the side. There are some good companies which provide work of such kind.

The pay might not be too high for these jobs, but nonetheless, they are easy to get and can be easily done in your free time.

The jobs might range from text creation, data tagging, edition, simple web research, etc.

Clickworker, as it is stated on the website, recruitment is done globally in all the countries depending on the project.

Amazon Mechanical Turk, HITS as they are called can be done from anywhere, so no place restriction applies.

Appen Butler Hill also offers crowdsourcing projects to different countries.

Crowdflower offers tasks to contributors working anywhere, and more skilled contributors earn more.

 

Transcription

Transcription can be done online for many reputed companies and location is not a factor for this line of work.

You don’t have to be a fast typist for transcription; there are enterprises that recruit beginners as well.

Scribie recruits in many other countries other than the United States.

TranscribeMe also recruits all over the world.

Rev has transcription and translation projects offering medical, business and focus groups transcription for worldwide workers.

Doneitnow is an Australian company hiring transcribers globally.

Speechpad is a speech to text and video captioning company which employs transcribers internationally.

 

Writing

Freelance writing is becoming great paying stream of work as the boundaries of writing have widened to blogs, magazines, ebooks, etc.

For most of the websites where you plan to write, you should send a sample of your work. Rates vary according to the project or the company.

Some of the websites which have writing gigs are Great Content, Hire Writers, TextBroker, Domainite.

Blogs which pay you to write/guest posts Back to College, Babble, Mirasee, Adoptive Families, Scary Mommy, Guideposts, LightHouse, Narratively, DailyWorth etc.

 

Virtual Assistant

VA jobs are very popular as it is very convenient and the job nature is very varied. Virtual Assistants do many tasks which help a business to sustain.

In a nutshell, VA’s are like personal secretaries with more of web knowledge. Being organized and good time management comes in handy in this area of work.

Virtual Assistants are hired on crowdsourcing websites like Upwork, Freelancer and also on Job boards like Monster.com, Indeed.com, SimplyHired.com.

FancyHands is also another company which offers VA’s jobs regularly.

Freelancing

Freelancing has become big with many companies coming into this field. There are many projects on freelancer websites which you can bid for.

The projects range from SEO, website design, marketing, content creation and much non-technical stuff as well. You can bid for the projects, and it depends on your expertise and past performance to land with the gig.

Freelancer, Upwork, Fiverr, 99designs, Guru, Toptal, Project4hire, DemandMedia, PeopleperHour all have many freelancing projects with some requiring more specialized skills.

 

Tutoring

E-tutoring or online education is gaining popularity and the reason behind it is, it is convenient and more accessible for a larger group of people.

There are some websites which would not require any prior qualification for teaching except for having a good native English fluency.

If you are bilingual, then you earn more money as learning languages is also very popular now.

Tutor.com, Tutorvista, TutorHub, ExpertTutors, Enroll, Brainfuse all are tutoring websites which have plenty of positions for tutors.

 

Blogging

This is my favorite. Blogging does not need you to be a techie geek to start. You get to write about what you love and the best part is, you can make money from it.

Blogging is entirely location independent.

The key is to blog about what you know, understand who is your target audience and try to solve their problems. There are many ways you can monetize your blog like display advertising, sponsorships, affiliate marketing, etc.

Test Websites

Website Testers check the usability of the websites and the navigation and report the results. You do not have to be a nerd for this job, but should know how to browse the internet.

      Virtual assistants are in demand now, with so many online businesses coming up. Especially for bloggers, VA’s are becoming a must. The future economy is going to be fully virtual and telecommuters are going to exponentially increase in coming times.
